Important UK address change rules
When changing a UK limited company's registered office, the Companies House AD01 change normally must be reported within 14 days. The address does not officially change until it is registered. A registered office must stay within the same UK jurisdiction in which the company was incorporated. Updating the registered office does not automatically update every director's service address or your bank account.
Companies House notifies HMRC of a registered office change, but you should separately check tax and business correspondence details. VAT-registered businesses must tell HMRC about qualifying changes to their main business address within 30 days. These rules can vary with your circumstances; always check the official sources linked in your checklist.
