Referral Program Terms

Last updated:

These Referral Program Terms (“Terms”) govern participation in the BetaOffice Referral Program (“Program”), operated by Generation Beta Digital Limited, trading as BetaOffice (“BetaOffice”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

By joining, accessing or using the Program, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms. Our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and, where applicable, our Terms of Service also apply.

1. Eligibility

The Program is available to:

  • BetaOffice account holders aged 18 or over;
  • approved accountants, advisers and other business partners;
  • approved ambassadors and content creators; and
  • other individuals or organisations authorised by BetaOffice.

An active BetaOffice subscription is not required where BetaOffice has approved a referral-only partner or ambassador account.

Referral-only access does not provide access to the BetaOffice address service, mailroom or any other subscription service.

Employees and contractors of Generation Beta Digital Limited may not participate unless authorised by BetaOffice in writing.

We may approve or reject an application to join the Program at our discretion. Approval may depend on the applicant’s business, intended promotional methods, audience, location or other relevant risk considerations.

2. Partner Accounts

Approved participants receive access to the referral area of the BetaOffice dashboard.

Participants may be able to:

  • generate a personal referral link;
  • create campaign links for different channels or campaigns;
  • monitor tracked clicks and verified activations;
  • view pending and confirmed rewards; and
  • request a payout when the applicable withdrawal conditions are met.

Referral links remain active unless they are reset, revoked, suspended or terminated.

Participants must keep their account credentials secure and notify BetaOffice promptly if they believe their account or referral link has been compromised.

Partner accounts are personal to the approved participant or registered organisation and may not be sold, transferred or shared without written permission from BetaOffice.

3. How Referrals Are Tracked

Each participant receives a unique referral link or code (“Referral Code”).

A referral may be attributed to the participant when a genuine new customer:

  1. visits BetaOffice using the participant’s Referral Code;
  2. creates an eligible BetaOffice account;
  3. completes all required identity verification;
  4. becomes approved and active; and
  5. completes their first successful subscription payment.

Referral attribution is handled using cookies and internal tracking systems in accordance with our Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy.

Only one Referral Code may be attributed to a new customer. If more than one referral link or code is used, BetaOffice’s tracking records will determine the applicable attribution.

Referral tracking may not be successful where, for example:

  • cookies are blocked or deleted;
  • the customer changes browser or device;
  • the customer signs up without using the Referral Code;
  • another valid Referral Code is used later;
  • tracking is interrupted by third-party technology; or
  • the referral cannot reasonably be verified.

BetaOffice cannot guarantee that every visit, click or signup will be successfully tracked.

4. Verified Activations

A referral becomes a “Verified Activation” only when:

  • the referred customer is a genuine new BetaOffice customer;
  • the customer completes the required KYC or identity verification process;
  • the customer is approved and becomes ACTIVE;
  • the first subscription payment is successfully received;
  • the payment is not refunded, reversed, disputed or charged back during the validation period; and
  • both the participant and customer comply with the applicable BetaOffice terms.

The standard validation period is 30 days following the first successful payment. BetaOffice may extend the validation period where a payment, identity check, account or referral requires additional review.

Clicks, account registrations, incomplete applications, failed identity checks and unsuccessful payments do not qualify for a reward.

5. Base Referral Reward

The standard base reward is:

£5 for each Verified Activation.

The reward is paid once per eligible referred customer. It is not a recurring commission on the customer’s future subscription payments.

BetaOffice may introduce temporary promotional rates or partner-specific rates. Any different rate must be displayed in the participant’s dashboard or confirmed by BetaOffice in writing.

We do not guarantee any level of earnings, referrals, clicks, conversion rates or income.

6. Milestone Bonuses

Participants may also qualify for the following milestone bonuses:

  • 3 Verified Activations: £20 bonus
  • 10 Verified Activations: £60 bonus
  • 25 Verified Activations: £150 bonus
  • 50 Verified Activations: £300 bonus

Each milestone bonus may be earned once per participant unless a promotion expressly states otherwise.

The milestone bonuses are cumulative and provide up to £530 in total milestone bonuses, in addition to the standard £5 base rewards.

A milestone is reached only when the required number of referrals have completed validation and become confirmed Verified Activations.

Cancelled, reversed, fraudulent, refunded, disputed or otherwise ineligible referrals do not count towards milestone eligibility.

7. Pending and Confirmed Rewards

Referral rewards may initially appear in the participant’s BetaOffice Wallet as pending.

A pending reward:

  • is still subject to validation;
  • is not available for withdrawal;
  • does not represent money held on deposit for the participant; and
  • may be cancelled or reversed if the referral does not satisfy these Terms.

Once validation is complete, an eligible reward may be marked as confirmed and added to the participant’s withdrawable wallet balance.

The BetaOffice Wallet is a referral-reward ledger only. It is not a bank account, payment account, stored-value account or electronic money service.

No interest is paid on wallet balances.

8. Payouts

Confirmed rewards may be withdrawn once the participant meets the minimum payout threshold shown in the dashboard or otherwise communicated by BetaOffice.

Available payout methods may include:

  • UK bank transfer;
  • Wise;
  • Payoneer;
  • an approved gift card; or
  • another method approved by BetaOffice.

Available payout methods may depend on the participant’s country, account type and payment-provider availability.

Payout requests are subject to review. BetaOffice may request:

  • the participant’s full legal name;
  • business or company name;
  • company registration number;
  • registered or business address;
  • VAT registration status and VAT number;
  • bank or payment-account details;
  • proof that the payment account belongs to the participant or their organisation;
  • an invoice or other supporting documentation; or
  • reasonable identity or business verification.

The name on the payout account must normally match the participant or registered organisation approved for the Program.

BetaOffice may delay a payout while it verifies payment details, invoices, referral activity or account ownership.

Participants are responsible for any fees charged by their own bank, payment provider or intermediary. If BetaOffice intends to deduct a payout fee, the participant will be informed before the payment is processed.

9. Invoices and Payment Records

Business participants may be required to provide a valid invoice before a payout is processed.

Invoices should include, where applicable:

  • the participant’s legal or business name;
  • business address;
  • company registration number;
  • invoice number and date;
  • the relevant referral period;
  • the referral commission and milestone bonus amounts;
  • VAT registration number and VAT amount, where applicable; and
  • the total amount payable.

Participants must not charge VAT unless they are validly registered and entitled to do so.

BetaOffice may provide a payout statement or remittance advice showing how the payment was calculated. A payout statement does not replace a VAT invoice where a valid VAT invoice is legally required.

BetaOffice may introduce a formal self-billing arrangement only where the relevant legal requirements are satisfied and the participant has entered into an appropriate self-billing agreement.

10. Taxes

Referral rewards may constitute taxable income.

Participants are solely responsible for:

  • determining their tax obligations;
  • declaring referral income;
  • issuing any required invoices;
  • registering for VAT where required; and
  • paying any applicable income tax, corporation tax, VAT, National Insurance or other taxes.

BetaOffice does not normally deduct tax at source. We may make deductions or request additional tax documentation where required by law.

Participants should obtain independent tax advice where necessary.

11. Prohibited Referrals and Activity

The following are prohibited:

  • self-referrals;
  • referrals involving an organisation owned or controlled by the participant;
  • duplicate or artificial accounts;
  • fabricated or coordinated signups;
  • referrals created primarily to obtain a reward;
  • use of false, stolen or misleading personal information;
  • manipulation of cookies, tracking systems, payments or identity checks;
  • offering unauthorised cashback or sharing the reward with customers as an incentive;
  • spam, unsolicited bulk messaging or unlawful direct marketing;
  • misleading, exaggerated or unsubstantiated statements about BetaOffice;
  • impersonating BetaOffice or claiming to be employed by BetaOffice;
  • registering domains, social accounts or business names that imitate BetaOffice;
  • paid advertising using “BetaOffice” or confusingly similar brand terms without written permission;
  • bidding on BetaOffice brand terms in search advertising;
  • interfering with another participant’s referral attribution; and
  • any activity that breaches applicable law, advertising rules or third-party platform policies.

Participants must not promise that a customer will:

  • pass identity verification;
  • receive a bank account;
  • be accepted by Companies House, HMRC or another organisation;
  • be activated within a guaranteed timeframe; or
  • achieve a particular business, financial or legal outcome.

Participants may use only accurate and current information about BetaOffice.

12. Advertising and Disclosure Requirements

Participants must clearly disclose their commercial relationship with BetaOffice whenever they publish or share promotional content containing a Referral Code.

The disclosure must be:

  • prominent;
  • easy to understand;
  • visible before or at the point the referral link is presented; and
  • appropriate for the platform and format being used.

Where appropriate, participants should use a clear label such as “Ad”, “Advertisement” or another disclosure that makes the commercial nature of the content immediately apparent.

Participants must not hide disclosures in hashtags, profile pages, collapsed text, unclear abbreviations or locations that users are unlikely to notice.

Participants are responsible for complying with:

  • Part 4 of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024;
  • the UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising and Direct & Promotional Marketing;
  • guidance issued by the Competition and Markets Authority;
  • guidance and rulings issued by the Advertising Standards Authority; and
  • any other applicable advertising, consumer-protection and platform rules.

BetaOffice and the participant may both be held responsible for non-compliant affiliate advertising. We may require promotional content to be amended or removed.

13. Data Protection

Participants must not collect or send customer identity documents, payment details or other sensitive personal information to BetaOffice through the referral system.

Referred customers must complete the BetaOffice application and identity-verification process themselves.

Participants must handle any personal information they collect in connection with referrals lawfully and in accordance with applicable data-protection and direct-marketing requirements.

Participants must not upload, disclose, sell or otherwise misuse information about referred customers.

14. Fraud Prevention and Verification

BetaOffice monitors referral activity for fraud, abuse and security risks.

We may review, withhold, reverse, cancel or claw back a reward where we reasonably believe that:

  • a referral is fraudulent, artificial, duplicated or self-generated;
  • the referred customer is not genuinely independent from the participant;
  • a payment has been refunded, disputed, reversed or charged back;
  • the participant has made misleading claims;
  • the participant has breached these Terms;
  • an error has resulted in an incorrect wallet credit;
  • required payout information has not been provided; or
  • the payment may breach legal, regulatory, fraud-prevention or payment-provider requirements.

Where a reward has already been paid, BetaOffice may deduct the amount from future rewards or request repayment.

A negative wallet balance may be carried forward and offset against future rewards.

15. Review of Decisions

If a participant believes that a referral or reward has been incorrectly rejected, they may contact BetaOffice within 30 days of the relevant decision.

The participant should provide the referral date, campaign link and any other information reasonably required to investigate the issue.

BetaOffice will review available tracking, payment and account records. The decision made following that review will be final, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

16. Independent Relationship

Participation in the Program does not create:

  • an employment relationship;
  • a worker relationship;
  • a partnership or joint venture;
  • an agency relationship;
  • a franchise; or
  • authority to enter into obligations on behalf of BetaOffice.

Participants act as independent referrers and are responsible for their own activities, expenses, taxes and legal compliance.

Participants must not represent that they can bind BetaOffice or make decisions on BetaOffice’s behalf.

17. Program Changes

BetaOffice may change:

  • reward amounts;
  • milestone bonuses;
  • validation periods;
  • payout thresholds;
  • payout methods;
  • eligibility requirements; or
  • other Program features.

Changes will be published on this page, displayed in the dashboard or otherwise communicated to participants.

Changes will not normally reduce rewards already confirmed before the effective date of the change, unless a confirmed reward is later found to be fraudulent, duplicated, incorrectly credited or otherwise ineligible.

Continued participation after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

18. Suspension and Termination

Participants may stop using the Program at any time.

BetaOffice may suspend or terminate a participant’s access where:

  • these Terms have been breached;
  • fraud or abuse is suspected;
  • promotional activity creates legal, regulatory, reputational or security risk;
  • required verification is not completed;
  • the account has been inactive for an extended period; or
  • BetaOffice discontinues the Program.

Suspension may prevent new referrals, link generation and payout requests while an investigation is ongoing.

On termination, valid confirmed rewards remain eligible for payout, subject to the payout threshold, verification requirements and these Terms.

Pending, fraudulent, disputed, incorrectly credited or otherwise ineligible rewards may be cancelled.

Sections concerning taxes, liability, repayment, records, data protection and governing law continue to apply after termination where relevant.

19. Availability and Technical Issues

The Program, dashboard, wallet and tracking systems are provided on an “as available” basis.

BetaOffice does not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free tracking or continuous availability of any particular payout provider.

We may carry out maintenance, correct tracking errors and make reasonable adjustments where system data is incomplete or inaccurate.

Nothing in these Terms guarantees that participation will generate referrals or income.

20. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BetaOffice’s total liability arising from the Program will not exceed the total referral rewards paid or payable to the participant during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

BetaOffice will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of opportunity, loss of anticipated income, loss of goodwill or loss caused by third-party platforms, tracking failures or payment providers.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

21. General Provisions

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

A delay or failure by BetaOffice to enforce a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.

Participants may not transfer their rights or obligations under these Terms without written permission from BetaOffice.

BetaOffice may transfer its rights and obligations as part of a restructuring, sale, transfer of business or transfer to an affiliated organisation.

These Terms constitute the agreement governing participation in the Program, together with any partner-specific terms confirmed in writing.

22. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from the Program, except where mandatory consumer law provides a participant with the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
